PRESS RELEASE: Friends of Nolensville Parks Diverts Nearly 200 Truckloads of Storm Debris Through Community Drop-Off Event

Following recent ice storms across the Nashville area, Friends of Nolensville Parks co-hosted a two-day community tree limb and brush drop-off event that collected nearly 200 truckloads of storm debris from local residents.

What could have gone to a landfill will now be processed into mulch and repurposed to build a nature trail in Nolensville, turning storm cleanup into a lasting community benefit.

“This wasn’t just cleanup, it was collaboration,” said Mary Kate Pollreis, Board Chair of Friends of Nolensville Parks.

“We’re grateful to the residents, volunteers, and sponsors who stepped up to serve. This event reflects what’s possible when a community comes

together.”

The effort was made possible through the support of community partners and sponsors, including Vanderbilt Health, Williamson Medical Center Walk-In Clinic Nolensville, Wabash Southern Kitchen, and Nolensville Home Improvements LLC, along with operational support from Brentwood Dirt Works, Off Duty Jobs, Eagle Timber, and Nolensville First United Methodist Church for hosting.

In addition to strong volunteer turnout, the event received generous support from residents and sponsors, resulting in approximately $2,000 designated for future park and trail improvements.

Friends of Nolensville Parks is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting, enhancing, and promoting Nolensville’s parks and green spaces through community engagement, partnerships, volunteerism, and high-impact projects.
